Stewardship Pledges

2024 Pledge Drive

Dear Members and Friends of the North Universalist Chapel Society

As we begin our 2024 Stewardship Pledge Drive, the North Chapel Board thanks all of you for your support. Though COVID still lurks in the background of our lives, our Sunday services have been in person all year and the choir has provided beautiful music for our services.

2023 has been an exciting rebuilding year for us! In the winter and spring, the Rebuilding Task Force met with over 50 of you to hear your ideas and vision for the future of the North Chapel. More of you shared your ideas at our Community Conversation potluck in June. You expressed an interest in having more opportunities to gather besides the Sunday service. We have had potlucks and pizza parties, pizza nights, brown bag lunches and circle dinners. Tales of Old Woodstock was brought to life by many in our congregation. Many of you gathered in the backyard after the flood to help with the clean-up. Others have volunteered to make and sell soup on the Green with Ken Woodhead and Change the World Kids. Some will work with Sustainable Woodstock’s Window Dressers building insulating window inserts or making sandwiches to feed the builders and more will work together to make the Hash Dash a big success. We are grateful that you continue to value gathering with community members as much as you do.

Wodstock organizations and individuals are once again using our facilities. The Red Cross Blood has held 2 blood drives and the Classical Music series scheduled five concerts for 2023. We have rented space for meetings and retreats, weddings, and concerts. Bookstock brought speakers to the church and Eugene Friesen will return in December for a concert. We are open for business! We are glad we can be a welcoming resource for our Woodstock community.

As this year’s Stewardship Pledge Drive begins, our small community remains vibrant, strong, and committed to everyone’s wellbeing. Like everyone else’s, the church’s finances were impacted by COVID and we have some ground to make up.

For our community to reach financial stability and continue to grow, the Finance Committee has set a goal of $160,000 for our 2023 Stewardship Pledge Drive. This may feel like a big stretch, but if everyone gives as they are able, together we can reach this goal. The value of every gift matters, no matter the size. Last year less than half of our church members pledged $127,000. Let’s shoot for “Pie in the Sky!” 100% participation. We are so grateful for your support.

Your pledge is a commitment to the North Chapel that may be paid as a lump sum or paid monthly over the course of the year. There is a link below to the pledge form for you to fill out. Please print it out and return it by mail or drop it into the collection basket on Sunday.

We have also enclosed a chart offering specific ideas of the range of contribution you might make and an information sheet with Frequently Asked Questions about the Stewardship Pledge Drive and pledging. There are also colored pledge forms in a basket at the back of the church.

We are very grateful for your support.

With great gratitude,

The North Chapel Board of Trustees
